1 Assistant Professor position
(Deadline June 12th, 2023 13:00 )
Fields

Numerical simulation; Digital twins; Computational Mechanics; Solid Mechanics and Mechanics of Materials; Fluid Dynamics

Activity

The researcher will have to carry out research activities in the field of Structural Mechanics, and in particular on Computational Mechanics.

He/she is also expected to contribute to the expansion of collaborations both internal to the IMT School, through interdisciplinary research initiatives, and external, with collaborations with national and international research groups, thus increasing the visibility of the School and its impact.

The researcher will contribute to the courses for the PhD in Management of Digital Transformation and for the Track in Computational Mechanics of the PhD in Systems Science on topics related to numerical simulation and the development of digital twin models of real physico-mechanical systems. He/she will also contribute to the supervision of the School's doctoral students and to the supplementary teaching and service activities for students, strengthening the educational offer by organizing specialist research seminars on topics of transversal interest to the School.

Profile

A solid scientific background is required in the field of Structural Mechanics and in particular skills in physico-mathematical modeling and numerical simulation of solids, materials and fluids, in order to develop digital models of real physical systems (digital twins for the reliability of materials and processes, for applications to biomechanics, multi-physics problems, and for the green economy).

The ability to collaborate with local, national and international industrial realities and to transfer knowledge and technology will also be evaluated.

Formal requirements

PhD on topics related to Computational Mechanics, or related fields.
