Emerging applications such as collaborative and autonomous cyber-physical systems (CPS) seek for innovative techniques that support Quality-of-Service (QoS) analysis as key concern to be considered. The objective of this talk is to present a recent approach pursuing a set of modules that are (i) representative of multiple QoS-based properties, and (ii) equipped with strategies aimed to establish rules of interaction among them in a feedback loop fashion. The approach has been applied to a network of sensors, and experimental results show that software designers are supported in the selection of design alternatives by quantitative information. A vision on how to embed ethics in the selection/decision process will be discussed along with some ideas on how to exploit the advantages of our novel modular QoS-based analysis in the emerging context of Cyber-Physical-Ethical Systems.
