The importance of studying the interconnectedness of the constituents of economic and financial systems has been brought to public attention by recent events.
The lack of open data, the large scale and the complexity of the systems under study make it a challenging and stimulating area of research. In this workshop we will discuss recent advances and future directions in the areas of reconstruction methods for networks, using statistical mechanics and machine learning methods, in the modelling of contagion and systemic risk, in the interplay between economic and financial risk, and in the temporal dynamics of economic networks.
The Workshop on "Economic and Financial Networks: Reconstruction, resilience and recovery" is a joint event organized by IMT School for Advances Studies Lucca, University of Rome "Tor Vergata", Scuola Normale Superiore, and Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in the framework of three research projects: the Network analysis of economic and financial resilience project of the PRO3 2021-2023 University joint program, the RENet - Reconstructing economic networks: from physics to machine learning and back, MUR PRIN 2022MTBB22 funded by European Union – Next Generation EU and the C2T - From Crises to Theory: towards a science of resilience and recovery for economic and financial systems, MUR PRIN PNRR P2022E93B8 funded by European Union – Next Generation EU.
The workshop will be held on February 19 and 20 in the Cappella Guinigi Auditorium of the IMT School Campus, located principally in the newly restored San Francesco Complex.
