The successful candidate is expected to publish in first-class journals and in the proceedings of top conferences in the computer security area. Moreover, he will teach postgraduate courses and supervise PhD students. The successful candidate is also expected to establish links with local industries and administrations that have shown high interest in cybersecurity, and to apply for national and international research funding.
The candidate must have a proven track record of research on computer security issues, guaranteeing complementarity and continuity with respect to the existing expertise at the School. The candidate must demonstrate ability to carry out original research in at least one of the following topics: access control; crypto-currencies; formal methods for checking and monitoring security protocols; security requirements elicitation; web security, security of "things." Since multidisciplinary research is a founding value of the School, inclination to work at the intersection with other core disciplines of IMT relevant to cybersecurity will be considered an asset.
PhD in Computer Science or a field related to the present call obtained in Italy or abroad. Curriculum with a suitable scientific background for carrying out research activity in the required field. Excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken. The selection is open to applicants who have had contracts as fixed-term researcher, for at least three years, pursuant to art. 24 paragraph 3 letter a) of Law 240/2010 (junior), or to applicants who have obtained national academic qualification as full or associate professor pursuant art. 16 della L. 240/2010, or to applicants who have had for at least three years, even if not consecutive, contracts as research fellow pursuant to art. 51 paragraph 6 of Law 449/97 and amendments, or pursuant to art. 22 of Law. 240/2010, or postdoctoral research scholarships pursuant to art. 4 of Law 398/89, or equivalent contracts or scholarships in foreign universities, or contracts as fixed-term researcher for at least three years pursuant to art. 1, paragraph 14 of Law 230/2005. Candidates not admitted for selection are Full or Associated University professors and presently employed research fellows on a permanent contract.
Adequate number of works published in relevant international journals/conferences in the areas of the present call, both at national and international level.

Selection procedure and criteria
Selection procedure conditions are transparent and are based on international standards.
Procedure
A Selection Committee, appointed by the Rector, assesses all applications on the basis online application info. Applicants selected on the basis of the preliminary analysis are interviewed at the Job Market Meetings in which the Institute is planning to participate, if applicable to the specific academic sector. Alternatively, individual preliminary interviews may also be conducted at IMT or by conference call. Travel expenses to Lucca for the preliminary interview will not be reimbursed. Shortlisted candidates are invited for a Job Market Presentation open to IMT faculty members and students. Travel expenses for the Job Market Presentation will be reimbursed.
Selection Criteria
The evaluation criteria are based on: Quality of research activity, including publications in peer-reviewed journals and references; Research organization experience and participation in international/national research projects and research periods in public and private institutions (academic and non-academic); Relevance of the candidate's profile for the development of IMT's research activities; Teaching, mentoring and supervision experience; Motivation; Excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken; As well as any other requirements as specified in the advertisement.
