Omar Doria is a currently a PhD Candidate in Economics at IMT Institute for Advanced Studies Lucca in Italy. As a PhD. student he had the chance to significantly enhance his statistics and econometrics skills and deepen the understanding of the socio-economic features, which characterize the worlds dynamics. These studies complement his educational background in Computational Physics (MSc) in Universidad de Barcelona & Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, and Physics (BSc) in Universidad Nacional de Colombia, where he learned C/C++, Digital Systems, Data Processing, Modeling, and acquired the mathematical skills necessary to approach and solve problems with different degrees of complexity.
He has had extensive professional experience as programmer, developer, and researcher in several companies in the US, South America, and Europe, where he applied his knowledge and extended his expertise.
Research Interest
Actually he is interested in study poverty, centralims, criminality and trade in Latin America and the world, by mixing quantitative techniques brought from physics, computer science and econometrics.
Omar believes that any person could make the world a better place just by wanted and working for it.
