In this seminar, Prof. Andreas Almqvist will tell about the computational tribology biased research activities the Division of Machine Elements at Lulea University of Technology. Prof. Almqvist is responsible for the modelling and simulation branch at the Division of Machine Elements at Lulea University of Technology. His research is theoretically biased and puts specific focus on the influence of surface roughness on film formation, friction, wear and leakage. He has, for instance, been involved in work addressing the effect of roughness on friction and wear in hydraulic motors, on the load carrying capacity and power loss in hydrodynamically lubricated bearings, on the leakage in seals etc. He has authored and co-authored papers presenting developments in the field of homogenisation, new physical models in tribology, systematic computational tribology investigations, etc. Please visit his homepage: https://www.ltu.se/staff/a/almqvist-1.10189?l=en for a more elaborate description, including his full publication list.
